The PSYCOACH course employs a practical and accessible methodology designed to be completed in approximately two and a half months. Coaches will have access to an online platform where they can view training videos, access practical resources, and participate in a discussion forum.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Together, by the end of this course, we aim to: Implement strategies to enhance athletes’ self-efficacy and awareness. Use practical exercises to improve training quality. Reflect on balancing performance with well-being. Build inclusive, supportive sports environments for all athletes. Use the insights and experiences of participating coaches to enrich the practical guide.
COURSE STRUCTURE AND MODULES
1. Understanding the athlete
Lays the groundwork for understanding each athlete’s unique qualities and motivations.
2. Sports psychology variables for performance
Covers psychological elements that impact sports performance and methods to boost motivation, focus, and confidence.
3. Effective communication in coaching
Teaches adaptable communication strategies to influence motivation and self-confidence.
4. The chain of awareness
Integrates the first 4 modules to establish conscious training practices, with a focus on self efficacy and awareness of what has been learned.
5. Building inclusive sports environments
Offers strategies to foster inclusivity, respect, and support within sports teams.
